Tomey Non Contact Tonometer FT-1000
The Tomey FT-1000 is a non-contact tonometer engineered for maximum patient comfort and operator convenience. Its soft and silent air pulse ensures a non-invasive experience, while the touch screen alignment system and fully automatic measurement make operation effortless and efficient. The device automatically adjusts intraocular pressure (IOP) readings based on central corneal thickness for enhanced accuracy. With features like auto alignment, auto shot, high-speed measurement, and a built-in printer, the FT-1000 delivers reliable and streamlined performance in every exam.
NO SURPRICES FOR YOUR PATIENTS
Air Noise Like a Gentle Whisper
The sound of air being released from the equipment can sometimes startle patients. The FT-1000 has an air noise level of only 55 dB—gentle as a whisper—ensuring that patients remain comfortable during the examination.
Notifying Patients of the Measurement Timing
Before measurement begins, the FT-1000's measuring head moves back and forth to alert the patient. This helps eliminate the surprise of a sudden puff of air, allowing patients to stay relaxed throughout the exam.
ENSURES EASY EXAMINATIONS FOR PATIENTS
Touch Alignment Enables Swift Measurement
"Please open your eyes wide." "Please don’t move." We aim to minimize patient discomfort as much as possible. With the FT-1000’s Touch Alignment feature, simply touching the displayed eye on the screen aligns the eye center with the center of the screen. The Auto Alignment and Auto Shot functions then initiate measurement immediately. This is another major benefit for patient care.
A simple touch on the pupil center shown on the screen roughly aligns the eye’s position with the center of the display.
Lightly press the center of the screen to move the measuring head toward the patient. The Auto Alignment and Auto Shot functions will then quickly complete the measurement.
Measurement Time Lag of Only 15 ms
The FT-1000 minimizes the delay between alignment and measurement to approximately 15 milliseconds. This advancement reduces measurement errors caused by blinking or slight eye movement, sparing patients from repeated exams. The system is designed to minimize the number of air puffs needed—enhancing patient comfort.
Quick Charge
When holding a patient’s eyelid during consecutive measurements, speed is essential. The FT-1000’s quick-charge circuit eliminates downtime between measurements, allowing smooth, continuous operation. This reduces the time patients need to keep their eyes open—another comfort-focused innovation.
Chin Rest Height Indicator
The chin rest height is displayed on the LCD monitor, allowing you to adjust it before the patient positions their face. This avoids the need for the patient to move their head up and down while pressing against the forehead pad—a thoughtful touch, especially appreciated by patients wearing makeup.
Large Measuring Head Stroke
The FT-1000 features a vertical measuring head stroke of 45 mm. This extended range significantly reduces the need to adjust the chin rest and shortens overall examination time.
CONSIDERING PATIENT SAFETY
Reliable Touch Sensor
Even if the measuring nozzle comes into contact with the patient, the touch sensor is immediately activated to stop the measuring head. This feature allows patients to feel more relaxed during examinations.
Digitally Adjustable Limiter for Each Patient
The limiter prevents the measuring head from moving too close to the patient's eyes. The FT-1000 uses digital control to finely adjust the optimal limiter position for each individual. It incorporates four safety mechanisms:

CONSISTENT MEASURING ACCURACY
Constant Air Pressure Ensured
Non-contact tonometry involves converting applanation air pressure into intraocular pressure. We believe that maintaining consistent conditions for every measurement is critical for accuracy. The FT-1000 includes a dedicated control system that stabilizes air pressure, ensuring consistent measurement results.
Values Displayed in "hPa" or "mmHg"
Users can select either "mmHg" or "hPa" as the unit for intraocular pressure. Even if clinical standards change in the future, the FT-1000 remains fully compatible.
MAKING EXAMINATION EASIER
Large Color Display and Icons
Thanks to the 5.7-inch color TFT LCD and easy-to-understand icons, even new users can operate the FT-1000 with ease.
Comfortable Operation and Intraocular Pressure Correction from the Touch Panel
Deleting unnecessary measurements, such as error data, can sometimes be troublesome. However, the FT-1000 allows you to easily delete this data from the touch panel. Additionally, the FT-1000 features a function for correcting intraocular pressure. This can be done simply by entering the measured central corneal thickness of the examined eye.
EASING MAINTENANCE
Drop-in Printer Paper Is Simple
Replacing printer paper is easy: just drop in a new paper roll and close the cover. There is no need to thread or feed the paper manually.
The Nozzle Is Easy to Clean
Cleaning the nozzle is simple—just wipe it with a cloth dampened with alcohol. In addition, the critical optical components are located 32 mm behind the nozzle, making it unlikely for these internal parts to become dirty.
