The EM-4000 features a wide capturing area of 0.25 x 0.54 mm, made possible by Tomey's proprietary imaging technology. This enables visualization of the endothelium across a broad corneal region, including central, paracentral, and peripheral zones—essential for detecting clinical changes in different corneal areas. By guiding the patient to fixate on specific light targets, the device can capture images at up to 13 unique points. This multi-point fixation approach significantly improves the likelihood of obtaining clear images even in patients with localized corneal opacities. Additionally, each captured image is marked for precise positional reference, and central corneal thickness (CCT) is measured simultaneously for a more complete assessment.
