The Japonese ESL-Emerald-VD-5.0 is a state-of-the-art digital video beam splitter camera designed to take high-quality images of a patient’s eye using a stereoscopic microscope equipped with a slit lamp. With the included software, images can be captured with ease and transferred to a computer via USB cable, simplifying clinical implementation and making the ESL-Emerald-VD-5.0 an indispensable tool for ocular examinations.

The ESL-Emerald-VD-5.0 was designed with the digital camera compatible ESL-Emerald-26 LED and Halogen slit lamp microscope in mind. he ESL-Emerald-26 LED and Halogen features an LED background illumination system that facilitates clear slit light imaging. The LED slit lamp also comes with the unique “S.I. GRANDE” feature, allowing users to change the illumination field by up to 14 mm with a single click for contact lens fitting observation. The light source is fitted with a built-in yellow filter for imaging blood. The base is equipped with a joystick that includes a background illumination switch, light intensity control, shutter release, and video recording functions.
The included Pixel Filer Ver. 2.0 Image Filing System makes capturing images, recording video, and sorting files painless and allows for effortless editing and annotation. Pixel Filer Ver 2.0 allows for fine control of camera parameters like shutter speed and gain control with a click of a button. Six different preset camera property settings are available immediately after installation to get the user up and running quickly. These settings can be customized for specific applications and saved for quick recall.
The ESL-Emerald-VD-5.0 offers a wide range of imaging modalities to meet the needs of any application. The Sony progressive scan interline transducer CCD (ICX445 1/3” EXview HAD CCD™) offers a resolution of 1280 x 960 and can record video at a max framerate of 18 FPS. The device can also capture partial images with pixel binning and region of interest modes via Format_7.
ESL-Emerald-VD-5.0 has a high speed data transfer (5Gbps) of the newest serial bus which assures a stable connection between the camera and your PC.
