Tomey Autorefractor Keratometer RC-800
The Tomey RC-800 is a state-of-the-art autorefractor and keratometer designed for fast, accurate, and user-friendly objective refractive measurements. It precisely measures spherical and cylindrical refractive errors, as well as the astigmatism axis, delivering reliable results in a short time.
With a 5.7” LED display, intuitive touchscreen and joystick control, and automatic alignment, the RC-800 ensures ease of use and high efficiency in clinical settings. Additional features include central and peripheral keratometry, pupil and cornea measurements, and a quick thermal printer with auto-cutting. The integrated USB port allows for seamless data transfer.
Designed for modern eye care professionals, the RC-800 combines speed, precision, and convenience—making it an essential tool for comprehensive diagnostics.
The TOMEY RC-800 features five essential measurement modes accessible from an intuitive on-screen interface: Refractometry for accurate and reliable objective refraction with automatic fogging; Keratometry for quick and precise corneal curvature measurement; KRT Corneal Diameter mode to assess corneal size using digital calipers on anterior eye images; Pupil Diameter Measurement for easy evaluation by aligning on-screen cursors to pupil boundaries; and CLBC mode for determining the ideal contact lens base curve. This all-in-one system streamlines diagnostics and enhances efficiency in any clinical setting.
The TOMEY RC-800 combines fast and precise refractometry and keratometry in one easy-to-use device. Automatic fogging ensures accurate refraction results, while short consecutive measurements provide reliable keratometry data. With measurements at φ3.0 mm (R = 8.0 mm), it also offers valuable support for contact lens fitting. Thanks to intuitive joystick and touchscreen operation, the RC-800 delivers professional results in minimal time—ideal for modern eye diagnostics.

The Auto Shot function automatically initiates measurement once optimal alignment is achieved in the vertical, horizontal, and focus directions. When enabled, the background of the [AS] indicator in the lower-right corner of the screen turns blue. To align properly, use the joystick to move the center point located in the middle of the cornea into the target ring. Then, tilt the joystick forward or backward until the focus indicator becomes smaller. A horizontal focus indicator means the measuring head is too far from the eye, while a vertical indicator means it is too close. When the focus indicator disappears, proper focus has been achieved—either on the corneal center or the iris. If Auto Shot is disabled, the [AS] background turns gray, and measurements must be taken manually.
After a measurement is completed, tap the “Print” button at the bottom of the screen to print the results. If Auto Print is enabled, the results will be printed automatically once both eyes have been successfully measured the specified number of times using Auto Shot. However, automatic printing will not occur if the device determines that additional measurements are needed or certain conditions are met, such as: a change in measurement mode during the process, manual measurement via joystick button, measurements taken without using Auto Shot, or failure to obtain valid data within the set number of attempts due to errors.
The RC-800 features a multi-language interface, allowing users to operate the device in their preferred language. Available options include English, Japanese, German, Chinese, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French, and Russian.
