Accommodates Three Instruments on Table
Specialists can customize the Portofino’s table with up to three different pieces of equipment, hiding unsightly cables and cords from patient’s view.
Flexibility with Multidimensional Movement
The table provides flexibility with multidimensional movement. It can be adjusted vertically and rotates, which accommodates the patient and the specialist. This flexibility of table movement makes the patient comfortable and reduces the repeated strain on the specialist.
Lift Boy System
Best of all, there’s no need to painstakingly realign equipment every time you adjust something, thanks to the innovative mechanics of the Lift Boy system. The specialist can calibrate the Lift Boy to account for the difference in height between two pieces of equipment used simultaneously. After the table is programmed, the physician can switch equipment and the table will automatically raise or lower to the correct working height. These features prevent physicians from having to repeatably adjust table and chair when changing to next equipment. Valuable time is saved for both, clinician and patient. The unit is safe, with built-in locking features to secure the table and instruments in place to protect your patient.
Fully Mobile for Efficient Exams
The chair’s position can be changed. The physician can use the touchpad controls to raise the chair up and down. The chair can be manually reclined up to horizontal position, and it is particularly useful when applying drops during an examination. The chair can also be rotated 90 grades -- allowing the patient to enter and exit the seat with ease.
Wheelchair Accessibility
For patients in a wheelchair or with mobility issues, the chair can be removed manually. The ophthalmic chair can be moved aside with the use of its own base plate in order to make the unit accessible for wheelchair patients.
Footrest and Chair Arms
The Portofino’s comforts features aren’t just for the doctor; this refraction unit is designed to keep the patient calm and secure through their entire visit. Cozy armrests flank both sides of the ergonomic chair, while the footrest gives patients a convenient spot to put their feet up and relax.
Phoropter Arm (sold separately)
The phoropter arm is adjustable, and can move up and down. Once in the right position, it is easy to lock it into place.
Lighting
The Portofino’s dimmable LED lighting system allows the operators to easily adjust the light intensity using the sleek, electronic operator-friendly control panel. This superior lighting system provides specialists with the ideal environment for refraction and examination, allowing them to deliver clinical excellence, while ensuring patient comfort.
Control Panel
The control panel on the Portofino isn’t just for moving things around, however. Using the touchpad, the operator can easily activate the chart projector and turn instruments on and off. Once an instrument is on, users can adjust the illumination brightness with the panel. The controls also operate the included overhead light, which helps clinicians see what they’re doing regardless of ambient lighting.
Drawers
The refraction unit includes drawers for extra storage.
Security
The Portofino is adapted with a variety of safety features. After rotating the table from one piece of equipment to the next, doctors or assistants can use the safety lock to keep the instrument in place. When ready to switch instruments again, simply unlock and return the table to the default position, or swivel to the next piece of equipment, reposition it in front of the patient and lock it into place.
Careful design is at the heart of the Portofino. This refraction unit can be requested to be purchased and assembled for left-handed or right-handed operators. Most importantly, the triple-armed table allows up to three different equipments to use the equipment simultaneously.
