At Meridian Medical, safety is at the forefront of our laser technology, and the MR Q SLT is no exception. Packed with built-in safety features, this cutting-edge device ensures better treatments, minimizes user errors, and provides quick responses for an unparalleled level of safety.
The MR Q SLT offers the unique advantage of digital anterior and posterior offset, allowing users to visualize the laser focus accurately. This feature provides a clear warning when the anterior offset is selected, reducing the risk of user errors during treatments. Such precise control ensures safer procedures and enhanced treatment outcomes. To further enhance safety, the control panel of the MR Q SLT requires double confirmation when swapping between laser modes. This intentional process reduces the likelihood of accidental mode switches, providing an added layer of assurance during critical moments. One of the MR Q SLT's most unique safety features is the electronically controlled offset, which automatically resets to posterior 100 μm after the laser enters Stand-by mode. This intelligent mechanism drastically reduces the risk of shooting at the wrong position, preventing potential lens pitting and promoting patient safety.
The MR Q SLT's exceptional red reflex results from retro illumination of the posterior capsule, leading to optimized on-axis capsulotomy. This feature allows seamless evaluation of capsulotomy edges' integrity, shape, and position in relation to premium multifocal IOL rings. The result is a higher degree of success and increased patient satisfaction, ensuring superior visual outcomes.
The MR Q SLT revolutionizes patient accessibility and practitioner convenience with its ingenious design, placing flexibility and comfort at the core of its capabilities.
Twin-Column Table with Large Tabletop - Ensuring Patient Ease and Spacious Working Area:
The MR Q SLT boasts a twin-column table featuring a generously sized tabletop. This thoughtful presentation ensures easy access for patients in wheelchairs, facilitating a seamless treatment process. Moreover, the ample working space provides the treating doctor with a perfect setup, enabling smooth and efficient procedures.
Unique Chinrest Design - Optimal Patient Comfort and Unobstructed Access:
Patient comfort is paramount, and the MR Q SLT delivers on this aspect with its unique chinrest design. This ensures that patients assume a comfortable, relaxed, and ergonomic position during treatment, fostering a positive treatment experience. Simultaneously, the user benefits from unobstructed access to the patient, facilitating precise and focused laser interventions.
Slit Lamp with Optional Tonometer Post - A Multifunctional Diagnostic Device:
The MR Q SLT's versatility extends beyond laser treatments. The slit lamp is equipped with an optional tonometer post, allowing the unit to be utilized as a diagnostic device. This integration enhances the device's utility, offering comprehensive diagnostic capabilities alongside its exceptional laser treatments.
The legacy of Meridian AG, now known as Meridian Medical Group, is intricately intertwined with the history of the medical Nd:YAG laser. A pivotal moment came with the development of the Microruptor II, a groundbreaking collaboration between Meridian engineers and the esteemed Prof. Dr. Franz Fankhauser († 2020). This revolutionary laser system redefined numerous ophthalmology treatments, leaving a lasting impact on the field of medicine. At Meridian Medical Group, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation. Our development engineers continuously pioneer new technologies and secure patents, ensuring our laser systems are always at the forefront of advancements. To ensure unmatched quality and reliability, we meticulously select and integrate the best Swiss and European laser components into our systems. Our dedication to using tried and tested best practices in engineering and integration guarantees that our laser systems deliver the highest performance standards.
TIPS FOR YOUR LASERYearly maintenance service assures the optimal performance of your laser ■ Follow the safety advice of the manufacturer and your regulatory body ■ Only use the laser as described in the IFU
CLINICAL INDICATIONFor posterior capsulotomy, iridotomy and selective laser trabeculoplasty.
At Meridian Medical, we prioritize precision and safety in every aspect of our technology, especially when it comes to binoculars. Each user must have the oculars set to their personal refraction, ensuring the laser is perfectly par-focal with the aiming beam and the retina. By maintaining this critical alignment, we prevent defocused slit lamp scenarios that could lead to unpredictable laser burns, ensuring reliable and accurate treatments.
DIGITAL ELECTRONIC OFFSET
Our innovative laser system incorporates a digital electronic offset feature, ensuring consistent and precise positioning at all times. The offset value is prominently displayed on the screen, providing real-time feedback to the user. Additionally, the system automatically resets to 100um each time it is switched on, guaranteeing optimal performance with every use.
These guidelines have been prepared following industry standards for Nd:YAG treatments. The use of the laser and its parameters is the responsibility of the treating ophthalmologist.
Although the MR Q clinical evaluation did not contemplate these parameters, the following treatments are described for Nd:YAG use.
The SLT has proven to be effective in treating open-angle glaucoma as primary therapy(1), according to the European Glaucoma Society.
