With the Luxvision KR-800C internal reading keratometer, you can perform a precise examination of the radius of curvature of the anterior corneal surface.
The keratometer was developed under the supervision of the Center for Ophthalmology and Optometry; it is easy to use, featuring an easy-to-read internal scale system and a multidirectional joystick for unprecedented maneuverability, delivering remarkable results and highly accurate measurements.
Easy-to-use precision instrument
The KR-800C efficiently measures the radius of curvature of the anterior corneal surface. Thanks to its single-position measurement system, it not only delivers greater accuracy, but also significantly reduces examination time and promotes better patient cooperation.
The three alignment images display uniform brightness. When the instrument is not precisely focused on the corneal mire image, the central image appears doubled, allowing the examiner to continuously verify and maintain correct focus throughout the entire procedure.

Built-in Easy-to-Read Scale System
The millimeter scales for the radius of curvature are displayed directly over the corneal mire images, enabling fast and accurate readings. Both the radius of curvature scale and the diopter scale for determining the refractive power of the cornea remain visible at all times, allowing the practitioner to perform measurements comfortably and efficiently.
Corneal Astigmatism Measurement
The KR-800C enables fast and accurate measurement of corneal astigmatism. The horizontal displacement of the mire images indicates the presence of astigmatism. Using the axis rotation knob, the measuring head is aligned with the astigmatism axis, after which the vertical and horizontal adjustment knobs are used to superimpose the mire images.
This procedure demonstrates the ease and efficiency of the single-position measurement system, delivering accurate results with simple and intuitive handling.

High-Precision Measurements
The mire images are sharp and easy to superimpose, enabling measurements to be performed with a high level of precision and minimal variation between results. This stability ensures reliable and consistent evaluations, contributing to greater accuracy in clinical diagnosis.
Multidirectional joystick for exceptional maneuverability
The multidirectional joystick allows vertical, horizontal, and diagonal adjustments with a single hand, providing precise control and more agile handling of the equipment. Its ergonomic design enhances operator performance and reduces fatigue during examinations, facilitating a more comfortable and efficient measurement process.

KR-800C Components
- Protractor Scale
Indicates the astigmatism axis. - Adjustable Eyepiece Control
Adjustable to correct the operator’s spherical error. - Horizontal Knob
- Axis Rotation Lever
Must be rotated to locate the astigmatism axis when horizontal displacement of the mire images (+ and -) is present. - Vertical Knob
Rotated to align the + and + marks of the target images in order to determine the radius of curvature of the vertical axis. Vertical, horizontal, and height adjustments improve performance and allow correct focusing. - Operating Rod
- Vertical Adjustment Knob (Up-Down)
Allows height adjustment for precise positioning. - Power Switch
- Fluctuation Wheel
Rotated to align the + and – marks of the target image and determine the radius of curvature of the horizontal axis. - Chin Rest
- Lamp Housing
- Anti-Reflection Shield
Helps maintain fixation by blocking the eye not being measured. - Forehead Rest
