Examination Principles

In indirect ophthalmoscopy, the fundus is illuminated by light passing through the EDL-20D lens. The returning light passes back through the EDL-20D to form a real, inverted image of the fundus between the lens and the examiner.

Advantages of Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscopy (BIO)

The advantages of binocular indirect ophthalmoscopy over direct examination are its excellent stereoscopic field of view and the ability to assess subtle and diffuse color changes in the fundus.

Exceptional Optics

The EDL-20D is manufactured with high-transmittance glass to achieve distortion-free images. The user obtains bright and sharp images throughout the entire field.
